WARNING

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO REMEMBER WHEN REPLACING CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

 1.  MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS TUNED AND OPERATING TO ORIGINAL SPECIFICATIONS, BECAUSE AN IMPROPERLY TUNED OR MISFIRING ENGINE WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER.

 2.  USING THIS TESTED O.E. CONVERTER TO REPLACE A FAILED CONVERTER ON A VEHICLE THAT HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY TUNED WILL MOST LIKELY CAUSE THE TESTED O.E. CONVERTER TO FAIL.

 3.  BEFORE INSTALLING THIS TESTED O.E CONVERTER, THE CONVERTER BEING REPLACED MUST BE INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE SUCH AS MELTED OR PLUGGED CATALYST AND/OR BULGING OR EXPANDED SHELL DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT.  CONDITIONS SUCH AS THESE ARE USUALLY SIGNS OF IMPROPER CARBURETION, IGNITION OR EMISSION CONTROL COMPONENTS.

 4.  ALL ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE SET TO ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS BEFORE INSTALLING ANOTHER CONVERTER.

 5.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY FOR CONVERTER FAILURE RELATED TO IMPROPERLY MAINTAINED ENGINES.  PROOF OF TUNE-UPS ON ENGINE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED DEALERSHIP OR AN AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR FACILITY MUST ACCOMPANY ANY CLAIM FOR WARRANTY.  TUNE UP MUST BE MADE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE OR AFTER INSTALLATION OF THIS TESTED O.E. CATALYTIC CONVERTER.

NOTICE TO PURCHASERS & INSTALLERS

Catalytic converters may be installed

 Providing the following conditions are met:

1.   The vehicle is missing a converter:  (See note A)

2.   A state or local inspection program has determined the existing converter has been lead-poisoned or damaged or otherwise needs replacement; (Must have customer's name, address, make, model year, mileage and reason for replacement on invoice.  Retain a copy of the written statement of order and attach to invoice). (See note A)

3.   The vehicle has exceeded the factory year/mileage warranty and a legitimate need for replacement has been established and documented. (See note A).

NOTE :

 When other than a government representative (repair facility, muffler shop, etc.) has verified replacement is justified.  You must have customer's name, address, make, model year, and mileage on invoice.  Also, attach to invoice the signed statement below.  Installers should retain copies of the invoices and statement for six (6) months, and the replaced converters (if any) for at least 15 days from the date of installation.  Replaced converter must be identified with customer invoices and statements and be available for EPA inspection.

NOT TO BE CONSIDERED A VIOLATION OF SECTION 203 (a) (3)

OF THE CLEAN AIR ACT, THE CONVERTER MUST:

1.    Be installed only in one of the three situations outlined above;

2.    Be in the same location as the original converter (i.e., Oxidation, 3-way or 3-way plus oxidation);

3.    Be the same type of converter as the original converter (i.e., Oxidation, 3-way or 3-way plus oxidation);

4.    Be the proper converter for the vehicle application as determined using the application requirement guide;

5.    Be connected properly to any existing air injection components on the vehicle;

6.    Be installed with all of the other required converters for the particular application as specified in the catalog;

7.    Be accompanied by an information card filled in and completed by the installer.

IMPORTANT:

 Replacement catalytic converters meet or exceed E.P.A. & C.A.R.B. requirements.

            Catalytic converters are emission control devices which are designed to last the life of the vehicle.  Furthermore, if the vehicle is properly used and maintained, original converters are covered by the emissions control warranty.  Federal law prohibits repair businesses from replacing these devices except under certain limited circumstances.
